for everyone
Man, I got my few seconds of fame at this year's Creative Circle Awards 2004 - not once, not twice but FIVE times! No lah, hee hee.. Yes, Kinetic won a dozen awards and won 5 for the video introduction to the one-north interactive CD-ROM they did for us. I don't know if they won for us any more after I left at about 10ish but I know we won four bronzes and a silver for several categories.

The atmosphere was bloody electrifying at the HUGE Ritz Carlton Millenia Grand Ballroom and I went up twice to the stage with them to receive the awards in front of thousands of beautiful people (mostly in the advertising industry and of course, the designers and art directors and blah blah blah blah). Didn't matter that I only had a glass of coke to break my fast and the dinner only started at 8 plus and the 4 course Western dinner wasn't much but there was plenty of booze and Sean (the art director in charge of our project from Kinetic Interactive) downed at least a dozen glasses of beer (free flow) and a few glasses of red wine they bought to celebrate. He really loves his alcohol.

Mark was looking a bit like an Ah Pek with his jacket over a yellowish checked shirt but I could see he was having a good time, running up to the stage everytime the host (a crude baldy from London) mentioned JTC and one-north. I didn't want to go everytime they announced but it was really amazing that Kinetic won so many awards from this interactive project of ours.

The team from Kinetic who worked with us is really an interesting bunch. The accounts executive (Audrey) is a former counsellor, Carolyn (she looked HOT with that tan!) is a mummy who can pass off as a JC student and is really talkative, Sean is a really cool guy with Jay Chou-like hair who drives a Mini Cooper S and Yunfei and Jay (from VividTree - they are the sub-contracted animator) are really funny. Funny too (funny haha) that the name that kept popping up and everybody can relate to was ARTHUR AW. We had a really good laugh reminiscing about the year long project (it wasn't supposed to be dragged that long) but the outcome I would say is pretty impressive and everybody has nothing but praises for it.

Anyways, I had to leave early to catch Ladder 49 (don't waste your time - I don't know why I agreed to join) with Wendy, Yunn Chyi and Cchay at Cineleisure and we had a good time going ooohh!! and ahhhh!!! at the photographs Cchay took of his recent trip to Nepal (among thousands of very well taken shots) of his (and their) travels including the recent Taman Negara trip. Quite a cosy place I must say - Cafe Cartel at Mohammed Sultan Road and the perfect place to watch people - sexy babes (some seriously sexy, some just looked slutty), the usual Sarong Party Girl (is that a passe term?) trying to hook up old and ugly ang mohs and we had to leave at 3am because it looked like it was going to rain and Wendy and Yunn Chyi were fast falling asleep.

Well, that was my Friday.

=)
