I was supposed to give a brief to the entertainment organiser for JTC's Dinner & Dance 2005 for the logo proposals, and after a short discussion with Stephanie (the committee's Vice Chairperson) - we figured it would be faster to furnish them with what we may have in mind in terms of aethestics, rather than just wordy descriptives, which are usually very hazy anyway.
So, I did a preliminary one (see right). Don't you think it's nice... Hee hee.. Anyway, the event organiser (can't be named here lah) came back with three proposals with exactly the same replicated elements (people, stars, the event and the tagline) but looking not very attractive!! My goodness, I mean, one of the deciding factors when we chose them as an EO was that we felt that they were quite good in terms of aesthetic presentations - looking at their past events but the logo proposals left me totally dumbfounded and aghast!
I don't know lah, maybe they used a cheap freelance to get our artwork done but really I tell you, I almost wanted to tell them - hey, just leave the designing to me lah. You all don't need to do. Hahaha!!
Anyways, they are going to come back with a new batch of proposals after we gave them a proper dressing down (NOT!) and they were supposed to get back to us this week.
I really hope we will not be disappointed this time... =)
